Vegas 2011

Our first Super Bowl trip was no different than the March Madness visits: Vegas won. On the bright side, we did get phenomenal seats to UFC at Mandalay.

Word of advice: Never bet the community betting pot on hockey and especially the Colorado Avalanche.

The Queen 1-14-11

Tony's turn with the pot lasted about 35 seconds. Blackjack was the game at $50 a hand. The 1st two hands were great as we hit BJ and had a nice dealer bust. Unfortunately, we did not quit while we were ahead. Tony lost every hand after that so we made a nice donation to Illinois public schools.

In a final kick in the nuts moment, Frank had the genius idea to switch slot machines and not 5 pulls later by his lucky neighbor, they hit this...

Lumiere is Evil

Hit some cold slot machines on the morning of 12/5. First I struck out on the $1 machines. I then decided to take it up a notch and play the $5 Wheel of Fortune machine. Vanna White & Pat Sajak are assholes and owe us $100.

Vegas trip for Super Bowl XLV February 4-7.

11/7 Harrahs

After getting his ass handed to him in $25 a hand Blackjack, Brad tried his hand at Roulette. I guess every blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while because the Club hit 2 numbers paying 35-1. We cashed out $400 then watched as the remaining money in the pot disappeared.

The pot stands at $620 which should pay for 2 flights. Still have 3 months to win the rest. Next Book Club meeting December 5.

June 2010, Kicked in the Nuts

Another month, another casino game the Book Club made a donation to, this time at Harrah's. This turn was Dominic, our final member to get a chance to play with the money. His game of choice: $5 Video Poker. We started off on a bit of a run. After 10 minutes or so of play, we were up to 95 credits. Being up $175 was not enough, Dominic decided to push our luck. After slowly dwindling down to 25 credits, he decided to bet $125 on one hand. Needless to say, the Royal Flush that paid $20k did not hit. About the only game we have yet to lose the pot on are War and How Many Finger Behind my Back.

Next Vegas trip: September 24-26.
